Biarritz is a city that, although its main attraction is the beaches, shops, or the casino, there are numerous activities you can explore. See museums, monuments, and sightseeing treasures to visit and enjoy during your holidays.

The most important museum in Biarritz is the History Museum, erected over an Angelican church, and where you can soak in a good part of the culture and history of La Aquitania. As a small fishing village, the town long ago converted into a city because of the whale industry, and later thanks to tourism, converted itself into a world reference for travel destinations.

The Marine Museum is also one of the more visited places in this city. It has an impressionable collection of bones and skeletons of cetaceans from the Bay of Biscay. You will also find here in Biarritz the Asian Art Museum, the most important in all of Europe. Also here is the Chocolate Museum.

On monument not to be missed is its lighthouse. Almost 200 years old, it was erected in 1834. It stands 73 metres tall and has a dominating view of all the Cabo Hainsart. You should also not miss seeing the Imperial Church.
